Agricultural web sites from all over the world.

So what is AgriLaunch? Well basically it is intended as a rough guide to agriculture on the internet. Previous lists often tended to focus only on a few countries, this site will, I hope be truly international. It is maintained by a farmer for the benefit of farmers and all those involved in or interested in agriculture.

So why should farmers and agronomists be on the net? Well becuase there is a lot out there for them. Hundreds of web pages give info on every subject imaginable. From dairy breeds to electric fences from seed mixes to official bull proofs. Farmers by their nature can live isolated lives. Farms are become larger and rural communities are breaking up. More and more are getting a great deal of social interaction as well as learning from Discussion Groups. These run through e-mail and are very easy to join.

At present I have all the agricultural sites I know of indexed by country. I also have started to index them by sector (dairy, beef etc).

There is also What's New a page for those of you who don't want to wade through the full list. Also check out the list of farmers on-line who have pages on the web. Myself among them!

I publish a monthly bulletin with details of the latest agricultural web sites. This is distributed by e-mail if you would like to subscribe then put your name on the mailing list.
